Start a Commission
I believe there’s no wrong time to commission a portrait.
I am open to all projects big and small, all ages & styles.
If you have an idea- let me know.
Children’s Portraits
There are a few options when it comes to commissioning children’s portraits. If in color, I prefer to take my own photos. I would travel to you and have a photoshoot with our sitter, then we’d decide on favorite references together.
I also have a black and white option, that can be done in person or remotely. If in person, we have a quick sitting where I sketch the head and get to know our sitter, then return home and finish the portrait in my studio. Alternatively, I can work from your photo completely remotely. I like this option for children under the age of 4 because you can capture that fleeting baby face in a special portrait without a sitting.
Of course there are always exceptions to the rule, so don’t be afraid to reach out if you have an idea for a portrait that is less conventional.
Pet Portraits
Capture the personality of your furry friends.
Pet portraits make wonderful, meaningful gifts that live on eternally. I usually work from client provided photos for pets, but if I am nearby or in town, I would love to have a sitting to photograph your pet.
Adult Portraits
It’s never too late to have your portrait made.
Maybe you want to honor a professional in your workplace or have a portrait made of your significant other, or even yourself!
I offer half figures in color, or head and shoulders in black and white for adults. I like to take my own photos for color portraits, but if you have a photo you’re crazy about, don’t hesitate to reach out. For black and white I can work from a client provided photo.
Conversation Pieces
If your idea doesn’t fall into any of the other categories, I’d say it’s a “conversation piece.”
These are pieces that commemorate a moment, a home, an outing, or anything you’d like to capture that isn’t a traditional portrait.
I can make gouache, oil, or pen conversation pieces- this option is very flexible so let’s talk about it!
